Galvanic coatings are appropriate as corrosion protection. This kind of surface treatment is realized by means of current and can be carried out with different coating materials in different layer thicknesses and gloss levels.

Further surface treatments are zinc flake coatings. These include the Geomet- and Dacromet technology. Dacromet is a coating of zinc- and aluminium flakes in a chromate connection which offers an excellent corrosion protection for (small) fixing articles.

The Geomet technology offers an environmental-friendly alternative for the traditional coating or galvanizing of smaller metal products. Thereby a zinc-aluminium flake coating is applied free from chromium on the component.
